Castles in the Sand

The light flits and dances about me
Yet I cannot touch it
Cannot grasp its radiance
So I sit Zen like, and admire the beauty
The lit candle a mirror to the glow
Here there is peace, tranquility
Yet in the stillness the feeling that something is amiss
The assurance of purpose elusive and out of reach
For hope is evasive and faith far, far away
And dreams erode like castles in the sand

The faint tick tick tick I hear
Pray God for those dear

The silence spreads out
A misty blanket of fog
